Help with morning drop-off the first week of school!

Hello, Phillips parents! We are in need of smiling faces and helpful hands to assist students getting out of cars during the morning drop-off (carpool lane) the first week of school, August 22 – 26, from 7:15 to 7:45am. You can choose one or more days — anything will help!

Throughout the rest of the school year, WatchDOGS dads and safety patrol students will help get everyone out and on their way. Until they are set up, come help our Phillips students get started off on the right foot!

Meet the Teacher Night | No PTA Meeting Tonight

Meet the Teacher Reminder and PTA Meeting Change!

Parents, we are all looking forward to seeing you and your kids for tonight’s Meet the Teacher event. Be sure to bring your school supplies if you did not purchase the pre-made box ahead of time.

Kinder – 2nd grade: 5:30 – 6:30pm
3rd – 5th grade: 6:30 – 7:30pm

NOTE: The previously scheduled PTA General Meeting for tonight has been canceled. The first official PTA meeting for all members will be on Tuesday, September 13, at 7pm in the Phillips cafeteria. The main purpose of this meeting is for the new Board to present the 2016-17 budget for approval.

Dads, be sure you come to the meeting, as well! Immediately following, the WatchDOGS will have their kick-off event with an ice cream social. Click here to find out more about getting involved with the WatchDOGS.

Reminders for School Start Preparation Week

Hello, PTA parents! We are all excited about starting the 2016-2017 school year at Phillips Elementary.

Here are some key things to remember as you prepare for school starting:

  • If you are a parent of a kindergartener, be sure to come to Meet the Parents Night on Thursday, August 18 at 6pm to get a good head start.
  • Meet the Teacher Night is Friday, August 19 in your respective classrooms. Grades K-2 start at 5:30pm; grades 3-5 start at 6:30pm.
  • During Meet the Teacher Night at 6:15pm, the PTA Board will hold the first General Meeting for all current PTA members. The purpose of the meeting is to approve the budget for the upcoming year. If you were a paid PTA member for the 2015-2016 school year, your membership is still active. Please plan to attend this very short meeting so that the PTA can start operating.
  • School start and end times have changed! All grades will start at 7:45am and end at 2:55pm.
  • The first day of school is Monday, August 22 at 7:45am.
  • There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 5, for the Labor Day holiday.
