Book Fair Evening Hours Tuesday, September 20

Ahoy, parents! The Bookaneer Book Fair will be open for book sales on Tuesday, September 20, from 7:30am to 6:30pm. Come check out our treasure chest of stories and get your kids hooked on a book!

Buying hours for the remainder of the week are:

Tuesday – Thursday: 7:30am – 3:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

Have an hour-and-a-half to spend at Phillips? You can still volunteer to help with book sales and pack-up this week! Sign up for a slot, and don’t forget to complete the Frisco ISD background check, if you have not already done so.

We look forward to sharing the journey with you, mateys!

College Week Pennants Due Thursday!

Students: Get out your creative and artistic skills, and decorate a pennant for College Week! The school can be a college you want to attend, your family’s favorite, or just one that has a great logo or mascot. We look forward to seeing your university spirit decorating the hallways!

If you need the pennant template, click here.

Reminder: PTA Meeting Tonight!

The first Phillips Elementary PTA meeting is tonight at 7pm in the cafeteria. You’ll be introduced to the new Board, hear about upcoming plans for the year and vote on the proposed budget.

Reminders for first day of school!

The start of a new school year! It can be an exciting and stressful time. Below are a few things to remember for Day 1 at Phillips Elementary:

School start and end times

Remember that school starts at 7:45am and ends at 2:55pm.

Car traffic flow for drop-off and pick-up

Be sure to review and follow the traffic flow map to learn (or refresh your memory) on how car riders get into school and out. There IS a method to the madness, and Phillips appreciates your cooperation.

If you are available during the first week of school, you can help car riders during morning drop-offs. Read more and sign up here.

Tears & Cheers breakfast for kindergarten parents

Some of us are crying, teary-eyed and blue.
Some of us are cheering, “I’m glad the summer is through!”
Whatever mood you’re feeling, stop by and stay awhile.
We’ll be here to greet you with coffee and a smile.

Parents of kindergarteners:

We get it! It’s the first day of elementary school for your little one. Not to worry — we are here to help you get over the heartache or joy (or both!) of seeing your young one go off on their own. Join us in the library between 8 and 9am for our Tears and Cheers mini-breakfast. Have a bite, get some coffee and meet some of our PTA members who have “been there.”
